Often called the "pizza herb", oregano has an intense flavor that increases with long cooking. Spice Islands uses only Mexican oregano. Mexican oregano has a high volatile oil content. Higher volatile oils means stronger aroma and flavor.
 
  • Ideal for pizza and all kinds of Italian dishes- meatballs, marinara sauce or calzones
  • In long simmering soups or stews, save back some of the oregano, taste and add more oregano if needed
  • Combine extra virgin olive oil and Spice Islands Leaf Oregano and drizzle over feta cheese and Kalamata olives. Serve with crusty bread
  • To substitute Spice Islands Leaf Oregano for fresh oregano, use 1/3 the amount. For example, if a recipe calls for 1 tablespoon fresh oregano use 1 teaspoon Spice Islands Leaf Oregano
